Crypto terms you should know

Do you know what do all these terms mean in the crypto world? Part 2!

on August 30, 2021

As with any new technology, cryptocurrency comes with its own jargon. If you plan to buy, invest or trade-in cryptos, learning the most used terms will help you understand how blockchain and cryptocurrencies work. Here are just some of the key terms you will come across.

ATH

ATH stands for all-time-high, which refers to the highest price (or market cap) that an asset or cryptocurrency has reached since its listing or inception. An example, the highest ever-recorded ATH of Bitcoin’s price is $63,850 on 16 Apr 2021 at the time of writing. That means this was the highest price that Bitcoin ever reached.

HODL

HODL is short of “Hold on for dear life”. Interestingly, HODL is a term derived from a misspelling of “hold” that refers to buy-and-hold strategies in the context or cryptocurrencies, which is meant to encourage people to not impulsively sell when a cryptocurrency drops dramatically or rises to become highly profitable to sell.

FIAT

Fiat money is a currency established as money often by government regulation like US Dollar, Euro, Yen, etc. “Fiat to crypto” means buying cryptocurrency with fiat money. For example, you can buy BHO token price in IMO round 1-2-3 with only USD 0.0045 – USD 0.0050 – USD 0.0055 respectively.

SHILL

A shill, or shilling, refers to the person or the fact of enthusiastically promoting a cryptocurrency or a crypto project. In attempts to create buzz, the person(s) publicly endorses the product. For example, Elon Musk’s suggestive tweets about Bitcoin and Dogecoin.

SATS

SATS is shorthand for Satoshi, the smallest unit of Bitcoin (BTC). Simply imagine that one bitcoin is equivalent to 1,000,000,000 satoshis. Instead of looking at bitcoin in terms of a dollar value, real traders look at sats. An interesting fact is that Sat is named after the creator of bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, but Nakamoto’s identity remains a mystery.

SMART CONTRACT

A smart contract is a self-executing, business automation application that runs on a decentralized network such as blockchain. A smart contract greatly shortens transaction time, and this is also a feature of many cryptocurrencies including $BHO of Bholdus.

Besides, if you wish to hold on to Bholdus Token for dear life, the Bholdus IMO round 2 purchase period will start at “13:00 4/9/2021", those who have successfully registered an account and provided their BEP20 wallet details may participate in IMO – Round 2 at $0.0050 (limit: $100 - $5000). IMO Round 2 will end at “13:00 6/9/2021”, or until 70.000.000 BHO tokens (equivalent to $350.000) are sold out, whichever comes first.
